Uwagi:

Np. Film nr 2, zakres czasowy: 1:31-1:54, 12:30-13:30

ZADANIA do filmów:

Case studies:

Using a British documentary television series about social workers and their role in the child protection, filmed in the social welfare department in Bristol we will follow 3 case studies mapped out as potential safeguarding cases. The documentary shows the underlying issues and the ways the family and the child are supported by the social welfare and social support system in the UK.

Reporter: Lesley Sharp, narrates the series, which was shown to the general public on BBC 2 in 2012, following some tragic incidents of child deaths, where social welfare officers and social workers were accused of being too lenient and not doing enough to help. I feel that the program is to show how hard the work is and that the families get all the chances possible to change and to address the issues before a decision of fostering is reached and before the child is placed in alternative care. It reveals the difficult emotions and the positive outcomes that are expected if a child gets better developmental placement with a 'healthy' family (an environment to flourish).

[Please note that:

The series deals with 'difficult' families that put the child at risk not with 'difficult' children that display challenging/dangerous behaviour. This is a separate issue.]
